Strengthening Access to Home Health Care

In September of 2004, the First Ministers (Federal-Provincial Conference) created strategies to strengthen accessibility in home health care. Home care was described as an “essential part of modern, integrated and patient-centered health care”, and it was declared that the quality of life for those in need would be enhanced by improving access to home and community care services.

Our ability to provide timely access to quality services lies, to a large part, in improving our ability to integrate the delivery of care and the evaluation of outcomes across the cycle of care in order to achieve a high quality, efficient, and sustainable health care system and deliver true value to Canadians. Home care services play a key role in meeting this challenge.

CareOnDemand, established in 2017, wanted to take this challenge and create a meaningful impact for the future. This done by making home health care as accessible and as affordable as possible. While keeping our independence, health, and quality of life as much as we can. Equipped with the knowledge of an aging population, escalation of diseases, and the availability of health care workers, we used innovation and technology to counter this. Currently, our system can swiftly provide urgent care staffing coverage within as short as 2 hours. Our revolutionized staffing model introduced automation, allowing us to take service request as it comes and making support care more accessible and efficient.
